Conference on ‘Writing the history of genocide and sponsorship.
Today September 6, 2011, CNLG, organized, at Lemigo Hotel (Kigali), a one-day Joint Conference on ‘Writing the history of genocide and sponsorship.
The meeting that was attended by different representatives of various institutions were welcomed by the Executive secretary of CNLG Mr. Mucyo Jean de Dieu in which he provided a general glimpse for the essence of this conference.
The conference follows other similar academic conferences that the National Commission to Fight against Genocide has been organizing since its 3 years of establishments its operations.
The ultimate objective of these conferences is to draw the strategies to document the history of the genocide across the country highlighting other strategies that can be applied for the better management of the devastating genocide consequences.
Also this conference focused on a critical review of writings and research findings that have been so far made by different academicians on genocide in general and particularly on the Genocide perpetrated against Tutsi.
The Conference, which comes timely in a crucial period during which the history of the genocide is threatened by denial and revisionist verbal communications and writings, so the participation of Academicians, and other partners.
The documentation of the Genocide being referred to here is to have particular regions, districts, individuals, institutions; NGOs among others write and document specific history of Genocide in their respective areas, pointing out how this tragedy was incepted and thereafter implemented. Professors Rutayisire Paul, Rutembesa Faustin, Dr. Bideri among others, were crucial in presenting different projects related to writing the history of Genocide.
At the end of this conference several recommendations were pointed out that will act as a major foundation for the better formulization to achieve this strategy.
